The New Zealand Gazette, often referred to as the “Gazette”, is the official newspaper designated by the New Zealand Government. Its first edition was published on December 30, 1840, when it was called the Special Gazette, and later passed a series of divisions. With the fusion, it was changed to the current name on August 11, 1957. Since 1941, the newspaper has been published every Thursday except for Christmas and New Year, and has been published twice a year on New Year Honor Day and Queen’s Birthday Honor Day.
