Slobodna Dalmacija is the Croatian daily newspaper, published in the southern Croatian city of Split, the first issue was published in 1943, initially only a regional newspaper, which became the development in the following decades. One of the largest daily newspapers in the former Yugoslavia, with the largest circulation, reached its peak in the late 1980s, with a circulation of 37,000 copies as of 2010.The success of the newspaper was largely due to its humorous taste, and the famous Croatian humorists started their careers in the newspaper.
